At that moment, Fellan looked to his father for explanation, and then feels his head get pushed back.

Feeling the guard release his left hand, Fellan looks to see the Captain rise and take up that position and say, “You will get it for me, and just to be sure.”

“The Captain would like to see you,” Fellan hears from behind.

Separated from body, and now separated from airy body, Fellan just floats. Physical appearance gone, in fact there is no seeing. He hears wind. He hears the thoughts of the all the other spirits around him, next to him, and within him as they all dance in chaotic motion

Inside the barracks now, the guards stop short of entering the Captains room. Fellan turns to look at the guard with his arm under his left shoulder, “So what’s this all about?”

Just as he gets the words out, from behind the door in front of him he hears, “Bring him in.” The doors open from the inside and the guards at his arms start pulling him forward. Directly in front of him he sees his father, 12 feet behind his father sits the Captain, and to each side of the room their stands many guards. Confused by all this, Fellan looks to his father as the guards walk him past, “Father, what is going on?”

Not getting a reply or even a glance, Fellan looks to his right and says to the other guard,“You guys aren’t even going to talk to me?”

Trying to move to follow his father, Fellan found that he could no longer do so. He looked at his body and noticed it was fading away. For minutes he stood there, unable to do anything but watch the door and watch as the dead guard struggled with his new reality. Then the door burst open and out came his father, blood over his entire body, and carrying Fellan’s physical form. Fading more now, he watched as his father carried him away and out of site towards their home. Wondering what new surprises death would bring with this fading away of his self, Fellan sees a girl coming from the opposite direction that his father only just left. He knows this girl, he tries to speak her name, but no words would come. She walks up to the door of the barracks and looks at the guards at the foot of the door then turns and looks out from the barracks as she goes inside. She is beautiful and Fellan finds her face a fitting last sight of this fading world.

Now from his father, “Let my son go, he has nothing to do with this.”

Finding him just outside of the barracks lying in the dirt, Fellan moves next to him. Seeing his father like this pains him so much and he begins to feel impossibly lighter than ever before. He sees his father pushing himself off the ground and standing to face the guards now repositioned in front of the barracks doors. Then watches as his father moves in on them and they come out to meet his attack. In a matter of seconds his father had put his fist so hard into one guard’s nose that his body was laying on the ground while the guard stood looking at Fellan. Then with a sideswipe his father put the side of his fist into the other guards head just as hard, but only knocking him to the ground, and never losing sight of his goal, he then went inside the barracks.

Dropped to the ground outside the barracks, Sylex can do nothing but lie there, unbelieving what has just happened. The guards shout things at him but he can not hear them. Thinking of his son, and what he should have done, face in the dirt, Sylex feels rage pour over him. Never has the warrior felt such undeniable pain and regret. Then thoughts of his son pour over him in flashes as if Sylex was the one dieing and that of his son’s life was flashing before his eyes. — After the useless rage Fellan displayed against the Captain, he left the barracks in search of his father.

Seeing the surprised look on his fathers face, and getting no reply, Fellan begins to worry about this situation more than he had before, as he is brought up next to the Captain. From his side the Captain says, “You will get me that stone Sylex.”

Rushing towards the gate, more proud than he had ever been, Fellan was ready to put the castle behind him and train in the outer grounds. He was so exited he never saw the two guards walking up behind him, as the gate guards told him to halt.

Then from the Captain, “You know what the stone is capable of? You will go get it for me Sylex.” “Captain, let my son go, I will retrieve the stone.”

Grabbing him by the arms the two guards start pulling him forward as they say, “Just come with us.” Without a struggle, Fellan let the guards take him as they pulled, not wanting to disobey the Captain or his guards, after all, his father was once part of the military group.

One second held in place by force, the next feeling a release, Fellan steps back and watches his body fall to the ground as the room around him takes on a colorless appearance. For seconds, unable to understand what is going on, Fellan is in a daze, not noticing the commotion in the room as his father is rushed by the many guards from the left and the right. He can hear nothing, except a faint whooshing that sounded like wind, but had an eerie quality. As his eyes start to adjust to this new world of blacks, whites, and grays, Fellan sees the captain kneeling next to his father. Without thinking he takes a direct path towards them and walks right through the Captains desk. Looking down as it happens; Fellan throws his arms up and turns about as he comes out of the other side of the desk, still unable to get a grip on what is happening. Then seeing his body on the ground for a second time, Fellan realizes, like a hard slap to the face, he is dead.

Turning to see the guards he asks, “What for?”

Blackness…..Nothingness…..Then red…..Then a rush of bright colors that fade away quickly and Fellan finds himself at the foot of an empty throne. For just a moment, a second at the most, Fellan looks about the throne and the blackness all around him, then again blackness and nothingness overcomes him and he awaits his next destination.

Turning away from his body, Fellan sees the Captain just before walks through his new air-like form. Seeing his father being dragged from the room, Fellan turns around towards the Captain as he starts to yell out words that just don’t seem to come. Knowing his lips are moving yet hearing no sound, Fellan is angered more than ever. Again he tries to talk, again nothing except that of the faint circling wind sound comes. Moving for the Captain now, Fellan lashes out blow after mighty blow into and through his head.
